Texas Construction Companies Slowly but Steadily Bouncing Back
According to recent statistics provided by the Associated General Contractors of America, things may finally be looking up for building construction, renovation and construction, companies in Texas. After the devastating losses of the past few years, more construction companies are planning to add employees back onto their rosters in 2013.
According to the statistics, approximately 40% of construction companies in Texas, especially those around Austin, South Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston, are planning to add a minimum of five new employees to their rosters in 2013. Thirty-nine percent intend on adding six to 15 new employees. The estimated percentage of new employees and workforce represented by these increases is approximately 25%, according to nearly ninety percent of the respondents. While such gains may seem small, they’re certainly better than the estimates and data from 2011 and 2012.

Nearly 41% of construction company owners stated that bank lending in regard to either the construction firm itself or to its customers has seen little change in the last couple of years. On the upswing, 32% of construction owners purchased new equipment in 2012 valued at $100,000 or less, while rented or leased equipment was taken advantage of by approximately 42% of construction business owners.
